Have you tried to read the bible but it just doesn’t make any sense to you?
Would you like to better understand the bible’s relevance to your life?
Would you like to make the bible play a larger role in your prayer life?
Would you like to better understand and proclaim the word of God in your community?
We at the Seminary of St. John Vianney and the Martyrs of Uganda theological Institute have the answer for you. Beginning in January we are offering a new and dynamic course to form persons in the Church’s ancient practice of Lectio Divina.
This course combines online interaction, weekly lectures, readings, activities and assignments to help students grasp the theory and practice of Lectio Divina.
The course is broken into two major parts.
In the first part students will be introduced to the foundational principles for effectively approaching Lectio Divina.
In the second section of the course students will explore the various traditions and forms of Lectio Divina, and Visio Divina, which involves praying with icons.
This will be an engaging and rewarding course, so sign up today!
Classes are carded to be on Thursdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm, but there is a possibility of a Wednesday evening class if there are persons interested in that option.
