How many of us know about the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross?
This Feast celebrates two events. The first is the discovery of the true cross by Saint Helena, the mother of the Emperor Constantine.
The second is the celebration and commemoration of God’s greatest work: His salvific death on the Cross and His Resurrection through which His death was defeated and the doors to heaven opened.
We have been given a chance to enter the gates of Heaven because of God’s ultimate plan. Jesus Christ’s death on the Cross opened the gates. May we remember the sacrifice which was offered for our deliverance from harm.
There are crosses available at Our Daily Bread Bookshop and Cafe, which we could have in our homes and offices to remind us of this Feast.
