From Me to You Message: 17th April, 2020.

Brothers and Sisters,

He is Risen! Alleluia Alleluia!

Be tolerant of one another and forgive each other if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, you also should forgive. Colossians 3:13

The world is rife with human quarrels; families, neighbour-hoods, Churches, have their quarrels. They arise from many principles in the depraved heart besides misunderstandings. Hence forgiveness is important.

As God’s children, we are to clothe ourselves in the many virtues of God’s holy, elect people – tender mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind and patient endurance. And in the verse above we reflect on these important instructions. Our forbearance and forgiveness should reflect God’s forbearance and forgiveness towards us – which is full, free and forever.

We are to forgive one another generously, unhesitatingly and without holding a grudge, as unforgiveness can lead to a range of ungodly responses like anger, rage, malice, slander, filthy language and other ungodly responses. The greatest of all incentives to forgive others is rooted in the fact that God forgave us freely and forever, for Christ’s sake. He forgave each one of us and we, in turn, are to follow His Godly example.

There is no forbearance when there is no love. Where people are rigid and do not give an inch, there is no love. God has not appointed us to remake others. They are not going to change. We must lovingly bear with their personalities or their lack of it. We lovingly put up with idiosyncrasies. They have a few queer quirks but so do we.

God has promised that He will remember our sins no more, and we in turn should reflect His grace in forbearing with one another and freely forgiving our fellow men – just as the Lord has freely forgiven us.

You possess GOD DNA ?
You have exactly what it takes to rise above. Be thankful in every situation that you are faced with.
