Brothers and Sisters,
He is Risen! Alleluia Alleluia!
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in [b]green pastures;
He leads me beside the [c]still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Sometimes the “green pastures” don’t look so green and the waters—they’re certainly not still. Often, the path before us looks barren and storm-filled. Truthfully, even when our circumstances look grim, our Good Shepherd is near. He is enough and the fact that he is working on our behalf, we can find beauty, growth, and peace in him in the midst of our hardest circumstance.
Our Savior takes us into his arms and carries us. This is important to remember when experiencing suffering. Our God is not far off. He’s always very near to us, strengthening us in each moment.
Not only does he give us strength to endure trials, he comforts us as we face them.
Regardless of what is stolen, taken and u justly not given to us on earth or the sorrow we may face, our salvation is secure and our inheritance is Christ. Truly, the lines have fallen in pleasant places for us. The Good Shepard never leaves his flock.
We don’t lack lots of things: we lack just one. The one thing we lack is intimacy with God. The one and only thing that can cause us to say, “I shall not want,” or “I lack no good thing,” is God. Nothing else. Just the Lord who is a good shepherd to his sheep. God is our satisfaction. God is good enough. Or, to be truer, God exceeds whatever we may think we desire.
Prayer: “Thank You, Lord, that I have everything I need right now. Thank You for providing food, shelter, water, breath, and life. I’m so grateful for Your goodness, love, mercy, and kindness in my life. Because of You, I lack for nothing. When I am tempted to look for more, lust for more, and strive for more, remind me that You have given me all that I need for today. I trust You, Jesus.”
You are reminded to be proactive always. Please do as you are required to ensure your safety and the safety of others. We pray for the souls of the departed from the Covid-19 virus and ask God to grant them pardon for their shortcomings and bring them into the Glory of his Kingdom.
