Brothers and Sisters,

God will love us forever, into eternity, everlasting life. That’s who God is, God is love. It’s an act of love, not just being kind. God is always acting; loving us, supporting us, holding us in existence. Everything we are and everything we have is a gift from God. Every moment we need to be thankful.
The Holy Father said: “You cannot love God without loving your neighbour and you cannot love your neighbour without loving God.” The “novelty” of Christ’s teaching consists in the union of the two commandments. True, no one has ever seen God as he is. And yet God is not totally invisible to us; he does not remain completely inaccessible.
Love of neighbour is thus shown to be possible in the way proclaimed by the Bible, by Jesus. It consists in the very fact that, in God and with God, when you love the person whom you do not like or even know. This can only take place on the basis of an intimate encounter with God, an encounter which has become a communion of will, even affecting feelings.
In a world where injustice is endured by many, one where we can also be easily distracted by the day’s news or the struggles and successes of day-to-day life, Jesus reminds us of the most important of the commandments.
“You shall love the Lord, your God,
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
and with all your mind.
This is the greatest and the first commandment.
The second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

You are reminded to be proactive always. Please do as you are required to ensure your safety and the safety of others. We pray for the souls of the departed from the Covid-19 virus and ask God to grant them pardon for their shortcomings and bring them into the Glory of his Kingdom.
